Suggested fabrics

We recommend linen, linen-viscose blend, heavier-weight viscose fabric or lyocell for this bomber jacket.

Remember to pre-wash (pre-shrink) your fabric: wash it at 30 °C (86 °F) or press it with an iron. Simply put, pre-washing is a special process that pre-shrinks the fabric. Choose the method that suits your fabric and follow the manufacturer’s care instructions.

If you sew this bomber jacket from the recommended fabrics, use a needle for woven fabrics, size 70/10 or 80/12.

Fabric requirements

Size One size
Main fabric – min. 2.0
Main fabric – max. 2.2
Metres, fabric width 150 cm
Size One size
Main fabric – min. 2 1/4
Main fabric – max. 2 1/2
Yards, fabric width 60 in

You need 2-2.2 m (2 1/4-2 1/2 yd) of main fabric, depending on the length you choose.

Fabric requirements are calculated for fabric 150 cm (60 in) wide and are approximate. Allow a margin of +/- 10 cm (4 in), which accounts for differences between size and height.

Fabric requirements do not include extra fabric for pattern matching.

You will also need

  • Approx. 50 cm (19 3/4 in) of fusible interfacing
  • Approx. 1.5 m (1 3/4 yd) of bias binding, at least 2 cm (3/4 in) wide
  • 1 separating zipper, 55-70 cm (21 3/4-27 1/2 in) long, depending on the length you choose (the zipper can be longer – you can shorten it)
  • Approx. 2.5-3 m (2 3/4-3 3/8 yd) of elastic, 4 cm (1 5/8 in) wide

None of our garment patterns include seam allowances.

We recommend a seam allowance of 1 cm (3/8 in) on all edges (do not add seam allowance along edges cut on the fold).

This pattern includes sizes One size. The sizes are nested on the same sheet, so you can blend between them for a better fit.

Check the measurement chart in the instructions to choose your size before cutting.

Recommended fabrics and the notions you need (thread, interfacing, zippers, buttons) are listed at the start of the instructions for this pattern.

How do I receive the pattern?

Right after checkout you get a download link, and the files are also available in your account under Downloads.

Can I sew items to sell?

A single purchase gives you a personal (hobby) license. Selling what you sew needs the Sewing Club plan with a commercial license — valid while your subscription is active.

What is a commercial license?

Permission to sew garments from the pattern and sell the finished clothes. It does not allow reselling, sharing or giving away the pattern files themselves.

How does the Sewing Club work?

Each plan gives you a set number of pattern downloads every month. Unused downloads don’t carry over, and club patterns can be downloaded while your subscription is active.
